Doe Bay Fest 2012 – a mix

It’s about a month and a half until the best weekend of the year: Doe Bay Fest. Seeing as how I wasn’t wholly familiar with a good portion of the lineup- and because I had a request from a friend to do so- I figured I should throw together a little playlist featuring a few songs from just about* every band playing so I could go to the island well prepared. If you’re not going, sorry (but still listen, cause the lineup is spectacular and full of artists you should hear), and if you are, get familiar with the bands via the playlist below…and I’ll see you there. *I say ‘just about’ because I couldn’t find any quality recordings from Sons of Warren Oates, though you can hear traces of what they sound like in The Maldives, as it’s the same members. Also, I couldn’t track down any solo recordings from Adra Boo, who will be playing an Etta James tribute with the Portland Cello Project, so there are two tracks from her band, Fly Moon Royalty.
