Monday Links

On Twitter and Facebook I share links each day to various stuff that I think is great and/or worth people’s time. But not everyone that comes here is on Twitter or Facebook, so I gather up the best of those links each Monday and post them here so everyone can get in on the fun. If you’ve missed any of the past Monday Links (or just want to waste some time), check out the archive here.

******STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING IT IS SHAKEY GRAVES DAY (through Wednesday, cause one day ain’t enough) AND THUS ALL THIS MUSIC IS ‘PAY WHAT YOU WANT’ ON BANDCAMP AND HE’S PUT UP A COLLECTION OF EPs YOU CAN’T GET ANY OTHER TIME OF THE YEAR. /end yelling. Seriously, go to his Bandcamp page and grab anything/everything, including a brand new EP (Nobody’s Fool) full of outtakes from that wonderful album he put out last year.*******

The long-awaited new album from Jose Gonzalez is now streaming on NPR. Go give it a listen. Also streaming on NPR: the absolutely electric new album from The Districts.

Also streaming ahead of its release tomorrow: the tremendous new album from Small Houses. Here’s Jeremy playing ‘Staggers And Rise.’ I’ll have some real words about this album at some point.

And now… about 2 minutes of perfection with Leon Bridges.

My friends over at The Ruckus got Nathaniel Rateliff to sit down and play ‘Easy’ while they filmed. It’s gorgeous.

Here’s Quiet Life playing a pretty rocking, rolling version of ‘Housebroken Man.’

This Matthew E. White tune is a real thing, you guys. I can’t stop listening to it. And dancing. Enjoy.

re: Shakey Graves Day, in addition to the new Nobody’s Fool EP, the As Per Request EP has three new live tracks that weren’t included on it last year, including the “live at Pandora” version of Dearly Departed which is probably my favorite version of that song.
