Monday Links

On Twitter and Facebook I share links each day to various stuff that I think is great and/or worth people’s time. But not everyone that comes here is on Twitter or Facebook, so I gather up the best of those links each Monday and post them here so everyone can get in on the fun. If you’ve missed any of the past Monday Links (or just want to waste some time), check out the archive here.

You should really get on over to NPR and stream the new albums from Tweedy and Perfume Genius.

I know I’ve been really shy about my excitement for this upcoming Shakey Graves album, but I’m really excited, you guys. Here he is playing another new one, this one called ‘Only Son.’

I’m also real excited about the new record from The Rural Alberta Advantage that comes out at the end of September. Here they are playing some new songs and some old songs. Real good, all of them.

We haven’t talked about it (at some point we will), but the new album from Hiss Golden Messenger is one of the very finest that’s been released this year. Here’s a live take of ‘Southern Grammar.’

This video of Myriam Gendron playing ‘Threnody’ is lovely as lovely gets.

A couple Tiny Desk Concerts worth your time this morning: the first from Justin Townes Earle, the second from Sturgill Simpson. Enjoy.

Nice set of tunes there. Thanks.

It does bug the crap out of my that they edited interview audio over the music from Quiet Life. Just let me hear the song!
