Monday Links

On Twitter and Facebook I share links each day to various stuff that I think is great and/or worth people’s time. But not everyone that comes here is on Twitter or Facebook, so I gather up the best of those links each Monday and post them here so everyone can get in on the fun. If you’ve missed any of the past Monday Links (or just want to waste some time), check the archive of posts here.

NPR is streaming the debut album from Sylvan Esso. You’d do well to give that (and the new Kishi Bashi, which is also streaming there) a few listens.

I hate to make plans for you, but you’ve got something to do for the next 19 minutes and 21 seconds, and that something is to watch this video of Shakey Graves playing 5 new tunes at KJHK.

The best thing I read this last week (as it will be every week until the series is done) was the latest essay from Questlove on hip-hop and culture. Spectacular stuff.

Chet Faker covering Jeff Buckley? Yes, please.

No big deal, just Colin Meloy of The Decemberists debuting a (ridiculously fantastic) song he wrote the same morning this was filmed.

This is as spot on as it gets, re: selling out.

Gorgeous video of Sharon Van Etten playing her latest single, ‘Every Time The Sun Comes Up,’ in a church.

Well this video of Hozier playing ‘From Eden’ for The Mahogany Blog is lovely, isn’t it?

Could watch this video of Courtney Barnett covering The Lemonheads for days. Enjoy.
