Monday Links

On Twitter and Facebook I share links each day to various stuff that I think is great and/or worth people’s time. But not everyone that comes here is on Twitter or Facebook, so I gather up the best of those links each Monday and post them here so everyone can get in on the fun. If you’ve missed any of the past Monday Links (or just want to waste some time), check the archive of posts here.

NPR is streaming new albums from Inventions and Saintseneca– both will surely help you ease into this week.  Oh, and the fantastic new album from Ages and Ages is streaming, too.

This piece from Okkervil River frontman Will Sheff on how he listens to music (and why he does it the way he does) was the best, most interesting thing I read all last week.

Aaaaaaaaand this was the funniest thing I read all last week. It’s also insanely accurate.

I’ll have actual words on the new, absolutely tremendous War On Drugs album (and, more specifically, probably this song) at some point, but for now just watch this video of a stunning, stripped down version of ‘In Reverse.’

Sharon Van Etten’s new album comes out May 27th. Can’t. Freaking. Wait.

You’d do well to give this fantastically interesting NPR piece on Beyonce, race, fandom and stardom a read.

Here’s the gorgeous new video from Portage for one of my favorite songs of theirs, ‘Columns.’

Weekly reminder below that LHS Room 125 is the coolest classroom in America.

Lovely cover of Ladysmith Black Mambazo’s ‘Hello My Baby’ by Dan Croll.

Because your Monday should start with a smile. Enjoy.
