It’s gotten cold here suddenly, the kind that gets in your bones and won’t leave no matter how many extra layers you put on or how much coffee you drink (and, if we are being honest, has really pissed me off, cause fall is the best and we are kinda skipping the really good, 60-degrees-and-sunny-for-a-few-weeks section). But that’s not to say it’s all bad. I mean, I’ve got a pot of extremely spicy chili cooking and I’ve found the perfect soundtrack for such weather in these stripped down tunes from Chicago’s own Fort Frances, the first an affecting, unplugged version of their tune ‘Habbits,’ the second a sparse, beautiful cover of Sufjan Stevens’ ‘Chicago.’ Lemons into lemonade, as they say.
Fort Frances just released Breathing Room, a brand new EP, and will be playing a release show for it at Lincoln Hall (one of the best venues here in town) on Sunday, November 3rd. Pick up the EP and get thee to the show, guys and gals. Enjoy.
