‘Child of Moving On’- Caroline Smith

Saturday night I found myself in a Minneapolis house with 25 or 30 (I’m bad at guesstimating) dead silent folks as Caroline Smith played request after request after the ‘album listening’ portion of her pre-release listening party for her (superb) new album ended (but before the dance party commenced). The first song shouted out for her to play was ‘Child of Moving On,’ and aside from her standing Saturday night instead of sitting, it was exactly like the below video, which is to say absolutely stunning. You’re in for a treat when that new album of hers, Half About Being A Woman, is released on 10/8, kids. Enjoy.

Bonus: Oh, yeah, she closed with ‘Eagle’s Nest.’ It was like the video below, but with everyone in attendance singing along at the end. It may have been one of my favorite musical moments to be a part of in recent memory.
