‘Under Lock and Key’- Ben Marwood

Words by Tiffiny Kallina

What really caught my attention in Ben Marwood’s music was the wordplay. Marwood twists and turns language, making every syllable essential to the (often) gut wrenching message. ‘Under Lock and Key,’ leading the charge of one of my favorite albums of 2013 Back Down, hits especially close to home. The lyrics are so poignant that they’ve kept me awake at night, remembering the overwhelming intensity of a relationship dying.

Ben will be making his US debut supporting Frank Turner and Off With Their Heads for a handful of dates in July, so make sure to come out early and commiserate.
