‘Country Flowers’- Small Houses

Friday night I found myself in a dark, dead quiet room with mounted fish lining the walls as Jeremy Quentin (the man behind Small Houses) played a short but spellbinding set full of the dense, evocative songs that make up his catalog. He closed with ‘Country Flowers,’ a brisk old tune that left the room in a stunned silence for a few seconds after the last notes disappeared. Those are my favorite few seconds at any show.

Small Houses is currently rolling through the country in support of one of the finest albums of the year, Exactly Where You Wanted To Be. Enjoy.
