Monday Links

On Twitter (and Facebook) I share links each day to various stuff that I think is great and/or worth people’s time. But not everyone that comes here is on Twitter or Facebook, so I gather up the best of those links each Monday and post them here so everyone can get in on the fun. If you’ve missed any of the past Monday links (or just want to waste some time), check the archive of posts here.

NPR has a stream up for the new, self-titled album from Caveman. You’ll want to give that a spin or twelve.

Heather from Fuel/Friends posted the wonderful results from her first Album Club meeting last week. She had a group of readers over for dinner and conversation about Josh Ritter’s brilliant new album…and then they fired up the computer and talked directly with Josh about it. Read the end product right here.

Music For Ants posted their newest spring mix last week- it’s fantastic and you need download it and get it in your ears. You should also be sure to grab this mix of Northern Soul- it’ll make you happy.

Want one of the best albums of 2012 but can only pay with an email address? Then it is your lucky day- head on over to NoiseTrade and grab The Oh Hellos’ Through The Deep, Dark Valley for the price of that email address of yours.

Here’s some video of Lord Huron doing a (predictably) gorgeous cover of The Kinks’ ‘Strangers.’

Night Beds stopped recorded a session with Paste during SXSW. It contains a cover of Broken Social Scene’s ‘Lover’s Spit’ as well as their own song ’22.’ Both are breathtakingly beautiful. You need to go watch it. Now.

Real late to this party, but Reignwolf damn good at rock and roll. Just wanted to finally state I’m on board.

No big deal, just Daughter mashing up a cover of Bon Iver’s ‘Perth’ and Hot Chip’s ‘Ready For The Floor.’ Totally normal.

Another cover? Sure. Here’s Bear’s Den and Joe Banfi covering Haim’s ‘Don’t Save Me.’ It’s real nice.

This video of Kevin Large (the man behind Widower) playing ‘Jumper Cables’ is just….ugh. Man. Enjoy.
