On Twitter I share links each day to various stuff that I think is great and/or worth people’s time. But not everyone that comes here is on Twitter, so I gather up the best of those links each Monday and post them here so everyone can get in on the fun. If you’ve missed any of the past Monday links (or just want to waste some time), check the archive of posts here. Enjoy.
So, this here blog has a Facebook page now. You can check that out/like it right here. Just another way to interact and talk about music and such.
Yellow Ostrich’s new album Strange Land comes out tomorrow, but you can stream it right this moment over at Paste. It’s really, really fantastic. You want to hear it. You’ll also want to check out streams of the brand new Delta Spirit and Bowerbirds records. So much good stuff coming out in the coming few months.
Fuel/Friends posted an altogether gorgeous new Chapel Session with Clem Snide frontman Eef Barzelay. If you aren’t familiar with his work, now’s the time.
Speaking of Fuel/Friends, Heather hosted a house show with Cataldo last week. This video of ‘My Heart Is Calling’ shows us all a bit of what we missed (and what we missed was a good show).
During a routine session of procrastinating on YouTube I ran across the below video of a brand spankin’ new Alabama Shakes song. I’ll be seeing them again this Friday here in Chicago and I could not be any more excited.
I’ll also be catching The Head and the Heart later this week, and this video of Jon playing a new song has me rather excited to hear some new jams from them.
La Blogotheque posted a brand new Take Away Show with Porcelain Raft last week. I haven’t talked about Porcelain Raft around here, but a) I’ve enjoyed the album a great deal and think it’s going to be a great record for the summer and b) this video is beautiful.
My friend Natalie from It’s Too Sunny Out Here has dropped (that’s what the kids say, right?) her monthly mix for February. As usual, it’s full of unbelievably good stuff. Oh, and you can download it for free. Go quick.
The folks over at Look Sessions released their latest video with favorites around here The Lumineers. ‘Stubborn Love’ will make your heart ache. Enjoy.
