Monday Links

On Twitter (and Facebook) I share links each day to various stuff that I think is great and/or worth people’s time. But not everyone that comes here is on Twitter or Facebook, so I gather up the best of those links each Monday and post them here so everyone can get in on the fun. If you’ve missed any of the past Monday Links (or just want to waste some time), check the archive of posts here.

Waiting for a stream of The National’s new album to pop up….soon, I hope. In the meantime you can still stream albums full of summer jams from MS MR and Small BlackEdit: The National’s new album is now streaming on iTunes. Get on it, kids. (I’m hoping at some point it turns from a picture of Daft Punk into something that I can stream, but apparently some people are able to listen to it, which makes me happy for/very jealous of them.)

Mikal Cronin recorded some lovely covers ‘Kiss Me’ and ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ for Aquarium Drunkard’s The Lagniappe Sessions. Go grab them for free.

Another week, another new song from Bahamas. Here’s Afie performing ‘I Must Be In A Good Place Now’ for Qtv.

We talked a little bit about Bastille last week (because they are real good). Here they are playing their song ‘Laura Palmer’ in Berlin. As you would expect, it’s fantastic.

This lip sync-off between Jimmy Fallon and John Krasinski is just wonderful.

Couldn’t love this new video for The National’s ‘Sea of Love’ any more if I tried.

Haven’t mentioned Reuben and the Dark around here yet, which is a shame because they are awesome. Here’s a video of them playing the stunning, slow-building ‘Winter’s Widow.’ Enjoy.
