Just because the calendar has changed years doesn’t mean I’ve stopped listening to my favorite record of 2011, Fire on the Vine by Bryan John Appleby. This weekend I noticed as I flipped through cds on my drive back home that Appleby’s ‘The Rider. The Horse. The Land.’ has managed to end up on just about every playlist/mix I’ve made for my commute lately. It’s a good thing, because each time it comes on I realize I’m still not ready to let that incredibly brilliant album fade out of my personal rotation.
If you’re not familiar with Bryan John Appleby yet, now’s your chance to right that wrong. Give the magnificent Fire on the Vine a listen, and the, buy it, at his Bandcamp page as soon as possible. This is the best album you missed last year. Enjoy.
