I’m finding it a bit hard to come up with new superlatives for what I think of the music that Tyler Lyle is creating, and the new song he allowed us to hear today titled ‘Never Reach My Destination’ doesn’t help me in this struggle at all. The song is an honest exploration of the long, winding journey we are all on to find happiness and joy in our daily lives, a bittersweet slide guitar perfectly complimenting the story Lyle weaves. As with all his songs there’s a staggering brilliance in the words that Lyle uses, painting vibrant scenes during each verse with what seems like unimaginable ease.
Tyler Lyle is one of my favorite young songwriters today and his album The Golden Age and The Silver Girl was one of the finest albums released last year, one you need to both hear and own. This is one young songwriter you need to keep an eye on, friends. Enjoy.
